I’m quoting my neighbor above. But since Marian Stevens has served 37 years as librarian at Tredyffrin Public Library it’s pretty easy to accept that equation: Marian Stevens is the Library.
Now our long-time Library Director is retiring.
Marian started with the library when it filled a single room in the school building that is now Woodlynde School. She led the library through the construction of its landmark building in 1976 and now into the grand renovation and addition to that space.
Many families and library patrons have probably known Marian through a couple of generations, and it’s hard to conceive of the library without her at the helm. Nevertheless, if she wants to retire, it seems only fair….
Thanks, Marian, for your gracious work and leadership.
The Tredyffrin Library is hosting a reception to honor Marian Stevens, who is retiring after 37 years as director. The event is Thursday, January 31, 2-4 p.m. at the library.
