I’d like to commend Ms. T on her first post - a very enlightening look at politics as usual here in Tredyffrin.
But I want to add something.
Warren Kampf and Bob Lamina not only knew about the proposed budget during the election, they worked on the tax-raising budget committee while they campaigned on their platform of “stable taxes”.
That’s right. Our Township Manager, Mimi Gleason, may have been the one presenting the proposed budget at the November 17 Board of Supervisors meeting - not even two weeks after the election - but that proposed budget was the work product of the township’s 2007 Budget Committee. And the Township Supervisors that served on committee were Warren Kampf, Bob Lamina, and Judy DiFilippo.
It takes months to put together a budget. It was during those same months when the tax hike was formulated that the campaign on “stable taxes” was designed and executed. Outrageous.
Does this anger our local Republicans? Does the Republican poll greeter in Ms. T’s story now feel disillusioned? I certainly hope so - it should frustrate every concerned citizen. I mean… Think about it. Did you see these two Republican candidates strutting around the polls on election day? Were you greeted with a smiling face and warm handshake? Did they or one of their followers shove a copy of their silly little graph in your hand and warn you about the dangers of Democrats and taxes as you walked in to vote?

They were working on raising your taxes while they told you to fear the Democrats - because the Democrats would raise your taxes. And the only voices speaking out against the tax hike in November? Democratic.
