Do you? DO YOU?
Well, the only way you can do that, of course, is by voting for Republicans!
What? Yes, it’s true. A vote for a Democrat is a vote for child molesters everywhere. It’s also a vote for terrorists, the disbandment of our military, rabid wolves, and the waterboarding of kittens and puppies. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Fearmongering is indeed one of the most favorite of Republican dirty tricks. A scared Republican voter is far more likely to come to the polls. So scare ‘em to death. To hell with the facts. They don’t need or want to disbelieve what they hear. That’s not their concern. They’ll trust their Republican leadership, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and the Fox News (sic) Network to bring them the truth.
Last week many of our neighbors in the western portion of Chester County found the following flier in their mailbox. It is a crying shame that our local Republicans don’t lash out against this blatant pandering to their most base fears. Does the normal, fairly intelligent local Republican really believe that their Democratic neighbors don’t want to keep their children safe? People - the Republican Party thinks you are idiots! Don’t you find that a wee bit insulting?
Here is their whole scary pamphlet, front and back. Click on the images for the full-sized version.
In contrast, look at the positive, upbeat, Democratic counterpart. Here they actually tell you why you should vote Democratic. They recognize that you are an intelligent human being, and give you real reasons, concrete ideas, with no pandering.
“Do you want dangerous child molesters behind bars?” Sheesh. If you’re still not convinced that this is nothing but an obnoxious appeal to your most base fears, consider this: have you ever heard of a non-dangerous child molester?
They’re playing you for fools, my Republican friends.
EDIT: I just heard - there are reports of this flyer appearing here in Tredyffrin.
