Every year for the last ten years residents in Strafford’s Shand Tract community gather for a series of events held in memory of Tyler Hedges, a young neighborhood boy who passed away from leukemia. The Shand Tract Civic Association organizes the weekend events, with proceeds to charity. Saturday’s highlight was the 5K Run/Walk. The starters gun sounded at 8:30 Saturday morning, and most of the Tredyffrin Democratic
candidates were off with the rest of the crowd. Walking. And from the pictures, it looked like they had a terrific time.
The beneficiaries this year were the Tredyffrin Library, the Thorncroft Therapeutic Equestrian Center and the Timothy School. On Sunday the festivities continued with a neighborhood fair, complete with entertainers, moon bounce,
children’s games, bake sale, and flea market.
It was a wonderful weekend, and the The Tredyffrin Democrats website posted a collection of pictures, from which I have grabbed these. Hope they don’t mind.
