Follow Jerry Henige around Tredyffrin

Here’s a cool story. Really heartwarming grassroots stuff.

Jerry Henige, Democratic candidate for Tredyffrin Supervisor at Large, has decided to try and knock on the door of every single house in the township. Every single one. That’s a lot of houses, and a lot of walking.

Ain’t that cool?

He’s only about 15% of the way there after a month of walking, so he’s got a long way to go. That’s not all, though. It looks like he’s managed to talk to folks at about a third of the houses he has visited so far. How do I know all this? Because they just put up some nifty tracking tools for us to use. There’s a thermometer that is filling up. There’s a satellite map of the township that is getting more blue as Jerry walks. [cute] And there is a travel log at the bottom, complete with numbers of houses, which parts of the township, and even names of people who have walked with him.

What a great story. Y’know, this is what local politics should be all about, right? I can’t think of the last time an actual candidate for public office knocked on my door to introduce his or herself and talk about the issues. Wow. Go Jerry Go!
